Field Irrigation Laboratory
The Irrigation laboratory was established in the year 2003 with following experimental setups and equipments. The total cost of setup and equipments was around seven lakhs.
i) Cutthroat and Parshall Flume: Field measurement of discharge;
ii) Recirculation unit consisting of Sump,Storage tank, Flow stabilization unit, Pumps and Channel: Development of experimental setup for analyzing canal flow parameters;
iii) Irrigation models: Demonstration of irrigation system components;
iv) Flooding type infiltrometer: Measurement of infiltration rate;
v) Soil testing kit: Analysis of chemical properties of soil;
vi) Tensiometer: Measurement of soil moisture content;
vii) Rapid moisture meter: Measurement of field moisture content of soil.
