Achievements

As part of the academic work, the final year students have to complete project work under the supervision of the faculty. Selected students are sent for industrial training to the industries to get collaborative work. We have MOUs with Texas Instruments (India) Ltd., CEERI Pilani (India), Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona Computer Vision Center (Spain), NI2 Logic Pune (India), Kristian Grad Univ. (Sweden), SPJ Systems Pune (India).

Embedded Design Kits were donated by Actel, USA through Renau Microelectronics, Pune worth Rs 1 Lakh for Embedded Systems Design Laboratory for strenghening education here.  Similarly, eight MSP430 Kits donated by Texas Instruments (India) worth Rs. 50,000. 

Our PG students are involved in collaborative project work with CMC Hyderabad, CEERI Pilani, INMAS New Delhi, Motorola India Pvt. Ltd. Bengluru, Robert Bosch Pvt. Ltd. Bengluru, SPJ Systems, Pune, etc.

Students from this department are getting good ranks in GATE examination. This year (GATE 2011) our students are having excellent records in getting admitted in prestigious institutions for their post graduation.  Following is the partial list of the same:

Many students qualify with good scores for examinations GRE, TOFEL, CAT, and ILTS. This year (2011 batch) three of our students has earned very good GRE scores (GRE Score in brackets).  They are Snehal Ullagaddi (1260), Akhilesh Jaiswal (1410), and Bharat Shinde (1390).  Snehal is now doing M.S. in ECE dept. at University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN USA under the supervision of renowned VLSI professor Dr. Kashab Parhi.  Other two students are planning to apply now. One student Pohekar Akshay M. has been selected for PG (MBA) at IIM Lucknow.

Our alumni are well placed in companies of global repute like IBM, Microsoft, Reliance, Infosys, Wipro, Motorola, Texas Instrument, TCS, C-DAC, L&T, Siemens, ST Microelectronic, HP Labs, Tata Elexi, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, NVIDIA Graphics, Persistent, LG, Sankalp Semiconductors, etc. Mr. Tushar Metkar of 2007 batch has been selected in core company “Marvel”.

Some of the alumni have formed their own firms/companies.  A few of them are Pradeep Erinjery, Chairman & CEO at Thirdware Solution Ltd. Mumbai, Sachin Dabir Founder and Director at Ashnik Pte. Ltd Singapore.

SGGSIE&T, Nanded marked its name with golden letters at TransITion 2010 organised by industry leader Cognizant. Two students from Final Year Electronics and Telecommunication Department Akhilesh Jaiswal and Bharat Shinde bagged first prize for iTech Speak, technical paper presentation competition.



They presented the paper on 'Establishment of Portable Bidirectional Emergency Communication to Aid Rescue Operations After a Disaster.' The winners were thrown into a burst of celebration as spot job offers were offered to them. Other participating colleges were Nirma University,Ahemdabad; BITS,Goa;Walchand College of Engineering ,Sangli etc. The first and second runner up places were acquired by BITS-Goa and Walchand College of Engineering-Sangli.

This year three groups from our department have been selected for Texas Instruments Analog Design Contest 2011 for which TI has donated kits and all the available components required for the projects.



Our students have bagged many awards at other National level competitions. Some of the notable awards are as follows: 

Ms. Soniya Ahuja B.Tech. final year student (2008 batch) bagged prize for Best Project for Home Security System Techfest, IIT Mumbai in year 2007. Ms. Pritee Kumari (2008 Batch) bagged “Best Non-IITian award” at IIT, Bombay for Mathematics Olympiad in 2007, at Techfest IIT Bombay, in 2008 and was selected for summer internship by IIT Madras in 2008.

Our students are also active in interdisciplinary projects like “BAJA” and "SAE INDIA F-1" - National level vehicle Design competitions.
