SGGS Hostel is a ‘home away from home’. SGGS Hostel life provides conducive atmosphere for the overall personality development of the students. All students are expected to maintain tranquil academic, atmosphere, helping each other to achieve distinction.
Hostel Committee:
The hostel was started in 1982, after SGGS college was established in 1981 by Govt. of Maharashtra in a Govt. Polytechnic building. The Institute has two buildings for boys hostel to accommodate 600 students and three buildings for girls hostel to accommodate 618 girls. In addition to this, we also provide family accommodation to Ph.D. students admitted under quality Improvement Program (QIP). The hostel buildings are named Sahyadri and Nandgiri for boys hostel, Devgiri, Godawari and Krishna for girls hostel. There are also QIP quarters. The hostel campus houses an office, security-locations, a guest house and Rector/Warden quarters.
Amenities :
The students are provided with basic amenities like cot, table, chair, cupboard and fan in their rooms. The rooms are spacious, airy and illuminated. Students common rooms/dining halls have TV sets. The 24 hours water supply is provided to all hostels. A generator is being added to ensure supply to messes and common rooms of girls hostel. The hostel campus maintenance like cleaning/sweeping, electrical repairs, and security services are outsourced. An electrician on campus for 24 hours is available.
Dispensary:
A facility of doctor with a separate dispensary block within the hostel premises is available. Ambulance is also available with driver to take care of emergency travel required till Hospital.
Fees Structure (For Boys’ & Girls’ hostel)
A) Hostel fees (per year) : Rs.22,000/- (from AY 2023-24)
B) Hostel Mess Deposit (for new admission) : Rs. 5000 (Refundable)
C) Hostel Mess (cooperative) Charges (per year) : Rs.24,000/- Students admitted to hostels have to pay total fees as mentioned above at the time of admission only. Additional charges if required will be collected at the end of year or at the time of No Dues.

Mess Facility:
As on today, mess both in boys and girls hostel is being operated on cooperative basis by the students only. Mess fee is decided by the students’ mess committee .
Research Scholar Hostel (Family accommodation) :

Priority will be given to the research scholar joined under the Quality Improvement Program (QIP).
Rents for family accommodation in various types of quarters are as under:
‘C’ Type Quarter : Rs.5000/- p.m. (Electricity and Water Charges Extra)
‘B’ Type Quarter (Devgiri Building) : Rs.3500/- p.m. (Electricity and Water Charges extra.)
Research Scholar hostel : Rs.2000/- p.m. (Electricity and Water Charges Extra.)
Guest Rooms:
Well furnished guest rooms are available in boys and girls hostel for the parents and institute guests on payment basis.
A) Guest room charges for alumni and research scholar:-
1. Non Ac Room :- 250 per person / per day.
2. AC Room :- 500 per person / per day.
B) Guest room charges for outside guest:
1. Non Ac Room :- 500 per person / per day.
2. AC Room :- 1000 per person / per day.
Sports:
The students can also avail the wonderful facility of play ground near the hostel. Facilities include cricket (turf, cement and matting wickets), hockey, volley ball, foot ball, basket ball and lawn-tennis. A 400 meter running track with field facilities like
jumping and throwing are also available. The tennis court is with floodlit facility allowing students to play late in the evening. A separate table-tennis hall is available in the campus. The gymnasium with all modern exercise equipment are provided for all boys and girls in the campus near their hostel.
